Mother’s Day is next weekend! Papa Ginge keeps asking me what I want so I thought I would share my list with you in case you need inspiration.
First I thought I would list all the usual stuff a Mam wants – sleep, a lie in, to pee without an audience, to eat a hot meal without being pestered with requests etc but those range from unlikely to impossible so it’s a waste of time.
I’m also aware I’m supposed to say all I want is a hug from my kids and a handmade card, yada yada, which is true but I also want some cold hard cash gifts and I’m not afraid or ashamed to say it. This year, Mother’s Day comes one week after my youngest’s first birthday so I feel it’s my right to be doubly spoiled in commemoration of me squeezing her out without drugs in our office upstairs. I’ve had two 10 month pregnancies, a category one emergency c section, a drug free home birth and have breastfed for 3.5 years now – if I don’t think my partner should be spoiling me then I would be questioning my self esteem!
So this is my hit list of things I like online right now, all with a motherhood theme! Some are UK and some US so there should be something for everyone. I’ve told Papa Ginge that any one thing from this list would make me happy. (At least my requests are reasonable as he just wants Octoprint plugins wtf).
UK products
Top of my list is this super cute and trendy beach holiday yellow and blue geo stacking silicone nursing necklace from Mama Jewels. I love her products and they are baby safe and look great. I have 5 of her necklaces already, they save me from much pinching! This one is a bargain at £13.95.
I really really wanted one of these mere soeur mama gang tees (£21) but they aren’t available yet. I’m waiting though. I love everything on this new site!
I’ve been after this Monica Vinader ‘she inspires me bracelet’ for a while now but I’m a bit put off by the price tag of £95. All of the profits from the sale (£40) are donated to Women to Women International though, which is a charity I love. It’s dedicated to helping women in war torn regions to help rebuild their lives. I always try to support brands that donate profits to Women to Women where I can.
Speaking of Women to Women International, another brand who donate profits to them that I love is Selfish Mother. I have had their classic ‘mother’ tee for about a year and I’m now coveting this sweater (£45) and her new ‘winging it’ tee (£30).
Liz Earle super balm is a wonder product that you can use everywhere. It’s all natural ingredients are ideal for the nursing mam – £17.25.
You might have seen me using the Mother Pukka hashtag on social media #parentingtheshitoutoflife when I do something particularly good or bad so I love her new sweater collaboration. And I like to support other instamums too. £40
US products:
This Mama Bear zip front hoodie from Loved by Hannah and Eli is so cute.
As you know, I find raising tiny humans exhausting so I love this hoodie ($45) and this tee ($28) from weestructed.com.
I’ve mentioned before that I breed non sleepers so this mug is perfect for me – especially for my imminent return to work so my colleagues are reminded why I can’t form a coherent sentence or remember who they are.
Hope you find this helpful! Leave me a comment and let me know what cool things you are after for Mother’s Day 2016!
Some great ideas there 🙂
Thanks Emma! Hope someone spoils you!
