Even though we are only in July. I’ve already started scheduling things in my diary as far as November. Something I’m looking forward to this autumn is Disney On Ice presents Passport to Adventure in October.
Last year
Last year my sister and I took Arlo and my niece Ayla to see Disney Frozen on Ice at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena and they enjoyed it so much we’ve decided to go again this year. Our youngest kids are a little bit too young to sit through it so we are leaving them at home with their daddies. It’s really nice to be able to do this with my sister and experience it together. Ayla and Arlo are only 3 months apart and really close so they have a blast. We go mid-week after school so they think it’s a really cool treat to go out on a night time after school. I think it makes it even more special for them.
New theme
This year, the theme is Disney On Ice presents Passport to Adventure – a celebration of the most memorable Disney tales with all the favourite characters. The promotional blurb says:
‘Celebrate the most memorable Disney tales with all your favourite characters in Disney On Ice presents Passport to Adventure. Join Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald, Goofy and Daisy on a journey to the timeless worlds of Disney’s The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, and Disney’s Frozen. You and your family will explore the African Pride Lands with Simba and friends, voyage to Ariel’s underwater kingdom and fly from London to Neverland with Peter Pan and Wendy to meet up with Tinker Bell. You’ll also travel to Arendelle for an extraordinary adventure with sisters Anna and Elsa, mountain man Kristoff and the huggable snowman Olaf.’
Frozen
Arlo is going to be most excited to see the Frozen parts. Frozen is special to Arlo and I. He was two when Frozen came out and it was our first experience of experiencing a big Disney blockbuster be released with him. Of course, he then made us watch it hundreds of times in the subsequent years, along with the Frozen Fever short when that came out. Between Arlo and Lena, I think we have every bit of toy and merchandising going.
Arlo is about to perform in his reception class graduation ceremony. His little group will be singing and dancing to Let it Go and Arlo has been practicing whenever he can. If you watch my Instagram stories you will have seen him practicing on there. I can’t wait to see him do it. I bet I get wet eyes. My baaabbbbbyyyyyy. I swear when a child comes out you gain 9,000 more tear ducts. It’s the only explanation for it.
We are looking forward to the new Frozen seasonal short coming out this November, Olaf’s Frozen Adventure. Disney On Ice presents Passport to Adventure is perfectly timed to keep us going with Frozen fodder until the new release.
Tickets
Disney On Ice presents Passport to Adventure is touring all over the UK this Autumn. Get your tickets for Newcastle Metro Radio Arena soon before they sell out. If you are going – I’ll see you there!

Oh my goodness! How cute are the reception children going to be singing Let It Go! Take your tissues!
I did well up a little bit but it was at Moana ?
I’m looking forward to Dinky getting to this age when I can share a love of Disney with her 🙂
